This statement is published in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps taken by Syntech Biofuel as at May 2026.
Introduction
Slavery, servitude, forced labour and human trafficking (Modern Slavery) is prevalent across the world today. Syntech has a zero-tolerance approach to Modern Slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chain and we are committed to ensuring that this approach is effective. We acknowledge our responsibility to maintain a transparent approach to our supply chain in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Syntech’s Business
SYNTECH is a renewable energy company that manufactures biofuel from Used Cooking Oil sourced entirely within the UK.
Syntech Employee Policies
SYNTECH’s Employee Handbook communicates SYNTECH’s values, ethics and expectations of our employees. SYNTECH undertakes “right to work” checks on all direct employees prior to them commencing their roles with us. This includes checking, where applicable, that the employee has a valid work visa and is of an appropriate age to work.
We also have a Whistleblowing policy which is available to all our employees which encourages individuals to report wrongdoing which extends to human rights violations like Modern Slavery.
To ensure an understanding of the risks of modern slavery, we provide relevant training to our staff and raise awareness through internal communications.
Supply Chain and Contractors
We clearly communicate our policy and expectations through our supply chain and to our contractors. Before any Supplier/Contractor is appointed Syntech undertakes a review of among other things their reputational standing. This helps to ensure that Modern Slavery is not taking place within their businesses.
